Summertime!!!

My favorite part about summer...having friends over!!! So on Sunday I surprised Blake and had his best friend's (Caden) family over for dinner.

Here are just a few things they did:

You are probably wondering why they are wearing helmets?!! Well, I have no idea-but if you saw the way they were driving it was probably best!

It was great evening! We look forward to having them out again this summer!

Today wrapped Blake's last day of 3-4 yr ld preschool. What an eventful year he had:

Blake got a new brother,

grew a few inches,

gained a few pounds,

learned some new songs,

has new friends,

found a love of Transformers and Ben 10,

knows his alphabet,

and numbers,

loves to play on the playground

and center time,

knows 5+5=10

and 2+2=4,

to name a few!!!

Expanding Vocabulary...

I guess I never realized how much Blake really listens to the radio and television. Like always on the way to work and school we were listening to Candy 95. The "Shoosh Girl" song that he likes to sing was playing and apparently the word battle is in the song. Blake asked me, "Mommy was does battle mean?" I told him, "Well it means you are fighting against something. Like your Transformers the Decepticons and Autobots have battles."

Not thinking much of it the next day on the way to school Blake is playing with his jets and I over hear him saying, "Are you ready to battle?"

Again, listening to Candy 95 (we live pretty far, so we listen to lots of Candy) Miley Cyrus, "The Climb" was on, since I am really not a big Miley fan I was going to change it. Blake insisted that we listen, he claims that it's one of his favorite songs. Well, Miley talks about trust in the song and Blake asked me, "Mommy, what does trust mean?" I told him that trust was something you earn for being good to people...they care for you and you care for them. So when we got home he walks up to his daddy and says, "Daddy can I trust you?"

Well, Blake was watching Dancing with the Stars and again Blake asked, "Mommy, what does extraordinary means?" I explained that it meant they were wonderful, great, perfect. He gave me this weird look, "I don't really like that word."

Two out three...good enough for me!

I always said I was never going to be the mother that bribes her children. Well, that all went out the door and I'm pretty good at bribing Blake. I try not to bribe with things, but with more time outside, snacks (candy-he usually is not allowed to have), television, etc.

This afternoon I needed Blake to take a nap and he was goofing around. So I went out on a limb and told Blake if he takes a nap that after dinner we will go to the Dollar General store and he can pick something (toy) out. So fast asleep he went.

Did you know they sell transformers at Dollar General?! Well they do and Billy and I could not believe it! Gotta remember that come Christmas.

So this evening Blake was playing with his transformers, I was just watching and thinking how he is such a big boy. Not my little baby anymore.

I told him, "Blake, baby, don't get any bigger. You are growing up on me way to fast." He looked at me and responded, "I know mommy I want to stay little." I said, "That would be wonderful." With those stunning blue eyes he turns to me again and says, "SO I WON'T EAT ANYMORE, THAT WAY I WILL STAY LITTLE FOREVER."

And that my friend is my child.

Can you believe he is already 6 months old?!

Chase Edward Graff is such a happy baby. I think he might be crawling before he officially sits up. He does this little head scoot to get to his brother's toys. Chase is getting pretty good with the sippy cups and he is now on stage 2 baby food - absolutely loves his food.

He can find Blake's voice from anywhere in a crowd. I feel that the two already have a strong brotherly bond and that makes happy.

Oh, his favorite song, "Itsy Bitsy Spider."

I look at him everyday and cannot believe he is mine.

I love you my little Chasey-Chase!

I have been following this blog for quite sometime. Last night the long journey for this family came to an end. I have never met this couple, but being a mother my heart breaks for them.

Their story is going to be featured on "The Doctors" tomorrow.

IT WAS A WONDERFUL DAY!

This evening while we were playing outside my happy son started singing...something he does very often. Except this time it was quite different from his "I am little teapot" song. It went something like this:

"Shoosh girl shut your lips...do the Hellen Keller and talk with your hips." Yes, this is a song he heard on the radio. Then my 4 year old asked, "Who is Helen Keller?"

I blame this totally on the Candy 95 morning show with Frito and Ally.

Ha!
