A night with no poopy diapers!

Our friend, Maggie, invited us to the Annual St. Joseph Fundraiser. After we left the Expo Center we headed to Applebee's for a late snack, with our wonderful friends Earl and Lori. It was a great night of no poopy diapers and baby bottles! A well needed break!

Billy and I last night! I think we clean up quite nice. My parents came into town to watch the boys.

Our dearest friends, Earl and Lori! Back in the day we use to spend lots of time together. Since the arrival of their four kids and our two we don't always have the chance to get together! We spent a couple hours at Applebee's just hanging out with no interruptions.

We have deeply enjoyed getting to know Maggie and Mike. They are absolutely a blast to be around. As you can tell!
We wrapped up our weekend by having lunch at the Olive Garden with my parents. Then we brought Blake and Chase on the bike trails behind Johnny Carino's and Sonic. It was a beautiful day! I can't wait to spend more days like today in the upcoming months.

A long day of English!

After today I don't ever want to discuss why we should not enforce dress code in public school! An English assignment three of my students had that was due yesterday, yet started today!

Thank Goodness for Little Boys!

I'm normally would not post anything like this, but it made me think of my boys and what I'm in for one day! All my friends who have boys will appreciate this email. My dad sent me this forward today:

Two young boys walked into a pharmacy one day, picked out a box of tampons and proceeded to the checkout counter. The man at the counter asked the older boy, 'Son, how old are you?' 'Eight', the boy replied. The man continued, 'Do you know what these are used for?' The boy replied, 'Not exactly, but they aren't for me. They're for him. He's my brother. He's four. We saw on TV that if you use these, you would be able to swim and ride a bike. Right now, he can't do either one'.

It was not a pleasant morning!

Blake got in a little trouble this morning and was not allowed to play outside after school! This is him wishing he would have listen to his mommy and daddy!

You might be saying poor thing! Think of his poor mommy who had to uphold the punishment! Which I think was worst then the behavior this morning!

Spring Break 2009

Spring Break started with Billly's 30th birthday party. The weather decided it did not want to cooperate with us. The band was suppose to be right outside our house. Well, since it rained Wed-Friday and the weather was in the low 40's plans changed. Luckily my in-laws live next door and have a 1200 sq ft garage. So, they quickly cleaned out the garage. In the long run the weather did not ruin our party. In preparation for this party I never really considered the fact I do not know how to cook. If you know my parents you know that they are pretty good cooks. I'm not sure what happen to me! Well, they stepped up to the plate and made sure there was plentiful food. My dad spent all day cooking brisket. Mom made her wonderful coleslaw, potato salad and green beans. I did help by stuffing the jalapenos with cream cheese and sausage. The band, FM 2865 Band, arrive around 5:00 p.m. to set up. It was a wonderful party - great friends, great food and great music. The kids and I headed to my parents in Groves on Tuesday. We spent most the days bringing Blake on bike rides around the neighborhood. Something we don't get to do very often considering we live on a ranch. Not much concrete except for the garage. It was nice getting to spend extra time with Blake. He picked out a transformer bike helmet for his spring break "present." I must say he looks pretty cute in it. My sister and her husband, Meghan and Curtis, are both teachers in Irving and had the same spring break this year, so they were in town. Of course, we got to spend time with my little nephew, Brantley bug!

On Friday, Billy and my in-laws arrived for Chase's baptism. I'm so happy we finally got to fulfill this sacrament. Since, Chase got so ill back in December we had to put it off until he was old enough to be around a large crowd. So, this afternoon my baby was finally baptized in the same church Billy and I got married in (6 1/2 years ago) and the same place Blake was baptized (4 years ago.) He is so lucky to have such wonderful godparents, Brock and Carrie. Many people were in attendance: BB and PawPaw B (my parents), Mammy and Paw Paw (Billy's parents), 80 year old great grandparents, Nanny and Uncle C, and numerous great aunts (my mother has 5 sisters).



This day made me realize how lucky I am to have this wonderful, HEALTHY baby boy...eczema and all!

So we wrapped up the day by eating at Floyd's Seafood. Absolutely best seafood in Southeast Texas.

It makes me sad that spring break is just about over with! I am so privilege to have a job that allows me to spend so much time with my kids.

In 10 days...

I am throwing a party. As I sit here 10 days prior to this party I realize I haven't done much of anything to prepare for it. The party has been planned since July and I am expecting 50+ people. Well, I did get the invitations out on time. So, I guess I did something.

If you know anything about me I love to plan parties. If I could make it a full time job I would. I enjoy all the ends and outs of developing a party. That is why I am so surprise I have not done more for this party by now. My past parties have been extremely successful because I am so well prepared. My dad's 60th birthday party was wonderful. My mother's retirement party was no problem. I am usually the queen of organization when it comes to celebrations.

Here are a few things I need to do:

1. I need to start cleaning my house. Since, I have returned back to work from maternity leave my house is a little out of order, which is very abnormal for me. I really don't have time to clean during the week. There are three bedrooms I need to prepare for guest and 3 baths. So that means washing sheets, tubs and sinks. Plus, I need to mop my floors. If you have ever been to my house thats all I have...floors.

2. The front of the house needs some work. If you read my "Kill the Chia Pet" blog or you came to Blake's bday party you know all the plants out front are dead.

3. Well the big thing I need to do is buy the food. Right now we are going to serve: brisket, my mother's coleslaw, potato salad and green beans. April is going to make a dessert table.

4. I have nothing to wear. I still don't fit in all my normal clothes. I lost just about all my Chase baby weight, but apparently my body just hasn't gone back. So, I need to go shopping. Since, it is Billy's 30th bday party I would also like to buy something for him to wear.

5. We need to get the trailor from our friend, Rick, for the band. Which reminds me I need to call the band, so they know what time to start playing.

Anyway, I'm sure I can ramble on forever. If you are anywhere around town on March 14th at 6:30 p.m. stop by our house for some good food and great music.

UPDATE: Chase's eczema is much better. I started mixing the hydrocortizone 1/2% with the Eucerin and it looks great. Plus, he doesn't seem to itch anymore.
